A teacher first
He began in 1994 as a science teacher at Jain Public School in Rewari, Haryana. Over the next nineteen years he taught biology, ran science departments and examinations, and guided students to national science honours — while completing postgraduate degrees in zoology and in education.
Since 2013 he has headed schools: first GRD World School in Dehradun, and from 2016 Tatachem D.A.V. Public School in Mithapur, Gujarat, a school of more than 1,500 students run under the DAV College Managing Committee.

Jagriti, Rewari
Alongside his teaching, he served as president of Jagriti Yuva Sangathan, a registered youth organisation in Rewari affiliated to the Nehru Yuva Kendra. Under him it ran an annual talent search for thousands of students across South Haryana, free vocational training for women, and relief and civic campaigns.
The Government of Haryana gave him the State Youth Award for this work in 2002–03.
